Constructed of magnesium alloy and coming in five different colors, the Sony Vaio SR promises improved performance with new Intel Centrino 2 technology.
Sony today introduced a new line of thin-and-light notebooks, the Sony Vaio SR series. Constructed of lightweight magnesium alloy, the Sony Vaio SR notebooks are available in five colors - night black, sunset pink, glossy pink, classic silver and glossy silver.
Weighing just over four pounds, the Sony Vaio SR boasts a 13.3-inch LED backlit widescreen display. Equipped with a uniquely designed keyboard, the notebook's individual keys are slightly raised, aiming to improve the typing experience.
The Sony Vaio SR is powered by new Intel Centrino 2 technology, with a chipset designed for better performance, responsiveness and energy efficiency. Select models come pre-installed with the Windows Vista Home Premium operating system. A Windows XP Professional downgrade is also available.
The premium model (full specs) offers a 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 processor, 3GB DDR2 SDRAM, 128MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 graphics card and a 320GB HDD.
The Sony Vaio SR will be available at the end of July 2008, starting at about $1400.
