Mobile phone carrier announces new partnerships in time for the holiday season.
UK mobile phone provider Orange today announced partnerships with content and applications providers including Ministry of Sound and Time Out, for two of its key Christmas Signature phones.
Customers who purchase the SPV E200 or the Motorola MPx200 will receive a free memory card with exclusive content.
The deal with Ministry of Sound marks the first time that a music compilation - featuring full length licensed audio tracks and video clips, true tones and homescreens - has been offered on a memory card for mobile phones.
Ministry of Sound have provided four audio tracks, three music videos, four true tones and six homescreens; Time Out have developed 85 City Guides (including maps, restaurant reviews, tourist information etc); Corbis have included two extreme sports snowboarding videos and US developers Westtek have created “ClearVue Office”, offering customers Word, Excel and Powerpoint viewers for use when opening email attachments on the phone.
The SPV E200 is the latest phone in the SPV family and boasts an integrated camera (for both still and video use) and Bluetooth. The Motorola MPx200 is the first clamshell Windows Smartphone to be sold in the UK. Both phones use the Windows Mobile operating system and, as key Orange Signature phones, come with exclusive Orange services and offer services such as email and the Internet. Both phones will be in store this week.
The SPV E200 – which is aimed toward the business customer – comes with the “Tools and Travel” card, while the Motorola MPx200 – which is aimed towards the more high-end consumer market – comes with the “Music and Travel” card. Both cards feature the same content but are marketed toward the different audiences.
The memory card will be available in the UK when purchasing either phone from an Orange Shop, the Link or Carphone Warehouse. They will be available while stocks last.
